The New Home Company is pleased to introduce you to Kathy Schwendimann, Principal at Meridian Interiors. Kathy, a long-time and trusted partner of The New Home Company, recently shared her feelings and inspirations around the interior design at Sky Ranch’s furnished models.
Q:
How did the architecture of Sky Ranch’s models in uence the interior design?
Kathy: My team and I felt compelled at every turn to ensure that my interiors match the Sky Ranch architectural experience. There is just so much integrity in the exterior elevations of these homes that we knew it was imperative the interiors followed this lead...and at times, gets out of the way of it.
Q:
How do your interiors ensure that you are able to honor the exterior palette?
Kathy: Most important, the interiors are an authentic interpretation inspired by the architecture while the art and furnishings offer a fresh twist to the exteriors. For example, in the Colonial Revival elevation, we have integrated graphic black and white abstract art that mixes with classic furniture styles. Or in the case of the Spanish Revival, there’s classic Mediterranean stair detailing and nishes with clean more contemporary furnishings.

What do you hope homeshoppers feel when visiting Sky Ranch’s models?
Kathy: Our wish is that visitors will experience a contemporized interior vision that is inspired some truly amazing architecture. The furnishings and interior touches are fresh and modern, but their strength comes from the balance that is offered by Sky Ranch’s timeless architecture and landscapes.
